Pacers Shock Knicks in Game 7, Advance to Eastern Conference Finals
No. 6 seed Pacers stun No. 2 seed Knicks on the road in decisive Game 7
Indiana Pacers make history, advance to Eastern Conference Finals for first time since 2014
In a thrilling and dramatic Game 7, the Indiana Pacers shocked the New York Knicks on their home court, winning 106-99 and advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals. The Pacers became just the 11th team in NBA history to win a Game 7 on the road, and the first team to do so since the 1994 Houston Rockets.
The Knicks had a 3-2 lead in the series heading into Game 7, and they had won their last two games by an average of 20 points. However, the Pacers came out strong in Game 7 and never trailed. They led by as many as 15 points in the second half, and the Knicks were never able to seriously threaten the Pacers' lead.
The Pacers were led by Paul George, who scored 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. George was named the NBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Week for his performance in Games 5, 6, and 7.
The Pacers will now face the No. 1 seed Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Cavaliers swept the Atlanta Hawks in the first round and defeated the Toronto Raptors in six games in the second round.
