Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for an antique license plate in Florida, vehicles must meet specific criteria.

Regular Antique Motor Vehicle:

• Manufactured in a model year at least 25 years prior to the current year
• Used primarily for exhibitions, parades, club activities, and similar purposes
• Not used for daily transportation

Horseless Carriage Antique or Historical License:

• Manufactured in model year 1945 or earlier
• Used for private use
• Operated only on designated special events

Application Process

To obtain an antique plate, owners must submit an application to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) along with:

• A completed Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Inspection form
• A title for the vehicle
• Proof of insurance
• Applicable fees
