Adam Bandt: A Decade in Parliament

A Decade of Representation

Adam Bandt, the current leader of the Australian Greens, has been the federal MP for the Division of Melbourne since 2010. He has been re-elected to his seat in 2013, 2016, 2019, and 2022.

From Industrial Lawyer to Political Leader

Before entering politics, Bandt worked as an industrial lawyer, advocating for the rights of workers. He was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly in 2006, representing the seat of Melbourne. In 2010, he successfully ran for the federal seat of Melbourne, becoming the first Greens member to hold a lower house seat in the Australian Parliament.

A Strong Advocate for Change

Over the past decade, Bandt has established himself as a passionate advocate for social justice, environmental protection, and political reform. He has been a vocal critic of climate change inaction, inequality, and corporate power. Bandt has also played a key role in advancing the rights of refugees and asylum seekers, and in advocating for a more inclusive and diverse Australia.
